This last winter Kansa and I lives through one of the toughest winters we can remember. Our Apartment holds heat like an ice cube and we had to learn that the hard way. After paying off a $400.00 heating bill, Kansa and I needed to find ways to better insulate our home with out violating our lease. After leak testing all of the windows and doors we found that the biggest offender was a a sliding glass door. We sheeted the door with plastic and the next month we still had to make payment arrangements for the obscene bill. Life sucks when you have no money, and then death becomes you. We made the additional payments as we agreed but the power company still turned off our power.
With out electricity, you learn quickly how dependent you are on it. We still have $260.00 to pay and the power company wanted it all at once. That God for family. Kansa’s parents loaned us the money and we got the power turn back on. Still we must come up with $222.00 to pay Mom and Dad back. This may mean that we have no food budget for the week, as I said life sucks, but I will never ask the taxpayer for help.
