Today I trained a man at work who had only two days on the job. I gave him the time and the instruction to to the job but the day before he had a bad trainer and he really did not want to be there. So I told him that he was doing great and if he needed help to just ask. He only had one day to improve or he was going to be fired. Well he is working tomorrow and his attitude changed. Now he seems to be looking forward to coming back.
It was both his change of attitude and ours that made the difference between his unemployment and success at work. My supervisor was ready to let him go and so was I, but something told me that he just needed better instructions than what he was given. It was this experience that showed me that everyone deserves a second chance. Thanks to a day at work I am undergoing an experiment. I began to expand the Urban Problem into other ways to help prevent Human Trafficking.
